Dear #Resident,
It is with profound sentiment that I greet all of you this holiday season—one that is unlike any other, not just in the history of our corporation, but all over the world. During these holidays, families will clamour for daily essentials and basic necessities, some feeling hopeless in their desperation. If you find yourselves among them, please reach out to loved ones and contact your local city staff as many social services and programs are available to you.
I would also like to thank each of you for the diligent efforts you have taken in keeping your families and yourselves safe and in the best health possible. You are all valued members of our community. Please continue to be considerate and respectful of others in the process. Sanitize. Wear masks. #SocialDistance. Maintain adequate nutrition and rest. Our Chief Medical Officer and leading health experts continue to endorse and advocate for the exercising of caution until universal remedies are implemented effectively.
This is a period, of course, that is not without its sorrows. Several of us have experienced great loss and tragedy. Work and employment has either been lost or hard to come by. Many services are on halt, while others are accompanied by great limitations or restrictions. My condolences, prayers and efforts are with you all.
However, due to these constrained times, our own infrastructure, amenities, and services have also been impacted. Our energy resources have been taxed and strained to levels never seen before, as many of you have already experienced with power outages and fluctuations in water temperature. Yet, despite these, your Management Team and Board of Directors remain vigilant in the resolution of such issues and committed to the maintenance, successful livelihood, and development of our corporation.
As your Board President, I am fortunate to be supported by a diverse, qualified, and talented group of individuals. We are also backed by homeowners associations and residents like yourself. With this support, we will navigate our fiduciary duties in a way that is fiscally responsible yet commensurate with fluctuations in the economic landscape. Together, I believe our unified strength will ensure that our corporation’s improvement will come to fruition. From all of us to all of you, I wish you a very #HappyHolidays as well as a safe and prosperous #NewYear.
Sincerely,
Jonathan San Luis, M.Ed, OCT
Board of Directors President on behalf of YCC 141
